Amy Pavri

I am set to graduate this summer with a BA(Hons) degree in Journalism from Edinburgh Napier University. This portfolio will showcase some of the work I have produced whilst studying, from articles to documentaries. I have loved my time at university but I am ready and excited to advance to a role within the industry.

About Me

I am a naturally curious, creative person with a particular passion for broadcast journalism. My interest in journalism ignited whilst studying a performing arts course in Glasgow. Whilst I thoroughly enjoyed my time at college and credit it wholly for my confident character, I always knew I wanted to study an academic degree and so I made the decision to move to the capital to study a BA(Hons) in Journalism at Edinburgh Napier University. Over the past four years I have developed a strong, diverse skillset which I am excited to take into the industry. A lot springs to my mind when I think about stand-out moments from my time at university. However, one clear highlight was in my third year when I jumped at the chance to study in Aarhus, Denmark at the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX). I had the most incredible time connecting and collaborating with individuals from across the world and was able to work on a range of projects, including articles, video reports and features. I am passionate about telling the stories of people who might not have the means to do so themselves, shining a night on under represented issues. I hope to enter a role where I can continue to do this.

The Pain You Can't See

This documentary is a self-produced piece investigating endometriosis - a chronic condition that affects 1 in 10 women globally. I managed every stage of this film, from concept to final edit. I spent 3 months diving into the condition and the harsh reality it subjects so many women to. This was the most eye opening, rewarding journey and I am so grateful to every single person involved. Massive thank you to Candice McKenzie and all of the women of Endo Warriors West Lothian, Poppy Harris and the team at Expecct Edinburgh - you all continue to inspire me every day.
